Granite Hearths

Granite Hearths are a lovely addition to any fireplace. A Black Granite Hearth is a smooth shiny polished surface with a uniform texture and dark background colour. Granite is a much stronger material than marble and is suitable for gas & electric fires as standard. The hearth can be cut into sections and rejoined to make it suitable for use with a wood burning stove or solid fuel real fire if needed. Cut to size Granite Hearth

As a direct manufacturer of granite hearths, we can make any non standard cut to size Granite hearth to cover an existing cut out in your flooring or to fit in the inner chamber of your inglenook fireplace. To order a bespoke cut to size hearth, simply measure the size you need to cover & contact us for a competitive quote. It is important to always be clear about what you will be using the hearth for, as solid fuel granite fireplace hearths need to be cut into sections and rejoined to allow the heat to escape. This is necessary to avoid the risk of the hearth cracking whilst in use. During installation the back of a solid fuel hearth should be filled with sand and cement. The industry standard hearth thickness is 2 ½ inches which are approximately 60m thick. This comprises of a 20mm horizontal section with a 30mm vertical section recessed about ½ inch (12mm) back to create an overall boxed and lipped effect
