has a very colour consistent dark rich background colour with a subtle natural black grain. Black Granite has a polished texture & is hard wearing.
Honed Slate
has a dark charcoal black background colour. The material has a homogeneous flat matt finish.
Riven Slate
has a dark charcoal background colour & gentle indentations running through the material. This material is more rustic & has a more characteristic natural look.

If is often difficult to imagine the colour of dark granite or slate, and this is why we offer an affordable sample pack for £1.49 including delivery.
Why order samples?
Samples are a very useful way of finding the best colour for your hearth or fire surround. This sample pack has a sample of Black Granite which is very popular and two distinctive slate finishes. The samples are approximately 1" or 30mm square, and are clearly labelled at the back. To minimise postage, samples will be cut thinner than the actual 20mm material we use to manufacture fireplaces & hearths
